Lela M. Flynn departed this life on Sunday, August 23, 2009 in Somerset, KY having attained the age of 76 years following a long battle with multiple health problems. Lela was born on April 18, 1933 in Sloans Valley, KY to the late John and Bertha Dovie Hill Helton.
Lela was last employed at Lear Siegler in Somerset, KY, she was a factory worker, farmer and homemaker and she also served a few years as a foster parent for teenage boys. She enjoyed making crafts to help with the Ladies Circle Church Group and she spent many hours making items for the Christian Radio Sharathon. She also loved gospel music and was a member of the Somerset Baptist Temple.
Lela was married to Hue Decker of Burnside, KY. He survives,. Five children blessed this union. Surviving children include; two daughters, Linda Hampton of Burnside, KY and Donna J. (and Albert) North of Somerset, KY; two sons, Hue Frank Decker , Jr. of Sloans Valley, KY and Donald Lee Decker of Middlesboro, KY, also surviving are two sisters, Revetta Avera and Goldie Flynn both of Somerset, KY.
Other than her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by one infant son, Hulan Coy Decker, four brothers, Cecil Helton, Milford Helton, Leonard Helton and Dewey Helton, and one sister, Christine Miller and her former husband; Leroy Flynn
Lela was a kind person who will be deeply missed by all who were close to her, she leaves a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, foster children and foster and adopted grandchildren and a host of friends from Just Family Day Care to mourn her passing.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 26, 2009 with Chaplin David Green officiating. Burial will follow in the Quinton Cemetery at Bronston, KY.
The family of Lela Flynn will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, August 25, 2009.
