Dorothy E. Helton "Dottie", age 76, of Burnside, Kentucky passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at her daughters home in Somerset, KY. Dorothy was born in Pulaski Co., Kentucky on September 2, 1940 to the late Herbert and Della Freeman Childers.Dorothy was a member of Sloans Valley Baptist Church. She loved her family, her church, and her Kentucky Wildcats with all her heart. In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by her husband, Lee B. Helton, daughter, Karen Leah Helton, brother, Herbert Childers Jr. and half brother Edwin Charlie Childers.Survived by her children Sue Ann and her husband Jack Parmley of Somerset, KY. Scott Helton and Friend Mary Denney of Burnside, KY. Grand-children Jacob and wife Courtney Parmley of Science Hill, KY. Jon and wife Jessica Parmley of London, KY. Great Grand-children Lexi, Addison, and Emma. Brother Johnny and wife Beverly Childers fro Greenville, SC. Half sister Hattie Vaught, sister-in-law Fran Whitis, brother-in-law Joe Helton of Somerset, KY and many other relatives and friends.Dorothy never seen a stranger, always welcoming everyone with a smile and open arms. She will always be remembered for her loving heart and kindness.A funeral service will be held at 1 PM, Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at the chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. Johnny Smith officiating.In lieu of flowers the family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Sloans Valley Cemetery Fund or Hospice of Lake Cumberland.Burial will be in Sloans Valley Cemetery.Pallbearers will be Gary Burgin, James Parmley, Tony Thurman, Jacob Parmley, Jon Parmley, and Josh Dick.Visitation will be after 11 AM, Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at Pulaski Funeral Home.Pulaski Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
