Mr. Leroy Cottongim

Mr. Leroy Cottongim, son of the late William Andrew and Nova Childers Cottongim, was born on January 18, 1942 at the Bent, Ky and departed this life on Tuesday, may 02, 2006 at his residence having attained the age of 64 years. He was united in marriage to Janice H. Whitis Cottongim on July 02, 1960, she survives. Other survivors include; one daughter, Cristy Lee Moore Allen; the following grandchildren, Ashlee Jeanette Moore, Krystopher Andrew Moore, Savana Jo Allen and Joey Allen; one son-in-law, William "Bill" Allen; one brother, Gary Cottongim, and three sisters, Stelma Haynes, Mae Meece and Ruby Hinkle. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by; one sister, Mary Edna Tarter; and two brothers, Rev. Dorwin Thaddias Cottongim and Edzel Cottongim. Leroy was retired from the Pulaski County Road Department, he was also a past employee of Cumberland Wood and Chair and he was a farmer. He was a Christian and was a member of the Barnesburg Baptist Church, he previously had attended the New Hope Baptist Church. He was a kind person who will be missed by all who knew him and he leaves a host of relatives, and friends who mourn his passing. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, May 7, 2006 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Rev. Harold Harris and Rev. Austin Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodall Cemetery. The family of Leroy Cottongim will receive friends at Pulaski Funeral Home after 6:00 p.m. Saturday, May 6, 2006. The Family requests that in Leiu of flowers, the family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Hospice of Lake Cumberland,c/o Pulaski Funeral Home, P.O. Box 697, Somerset, KY 42502 Pulaski Funeral Home is entrusted with all funeral arrangements.
