Mrs. Norma Goggins, age 88 of Somerset, KY; daughter of the late Virgl and Willie Margaret Meece Jones was born on March 19, 1928 in Somerset, KY. She entered eternal peace on Sunday, January 22, 2017 at Baptist Hospital in Lexington, KY, where she had lived with her son Keith for the past three years.Norma was united in marriage to Mr. Willie Evans Goggins. He preceded her death on May, 03, 2002.She is survived by one son, Keith Anthony Goggins of Lexington, Kentucky; one sister, Jacqueline Perkins of Somerset, Kentucky, and a vast host of other nieces, nephews and other other relatives who morn her passing and celebrate her home going.Other than her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by; her husband, Willie E. "Webb" Goggins; two children, Mitchell Evans Goggins, and  Derrick Leigh Goggins;  four brothers, John, Fred, Robert and Raymond; five sisters, Edna, Evelyn, Estella, Garnett and Madeline.Norma is survived by; one son, Keith Anthony (and Gail) Goggins of Lexington, KY; one sister, Jacqueline Perkins of Somerset, KY; on special grandson, Jared R. Goggins of Somerset, KY, five granddaughters, three great-grandsons, nine great granddaughters, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who mourn her passing.Norma was a long time and faithful member of the Davis AME Chapel Church in Somerset. She loved her church and family.She retired after 30 plus years from Lake Cumberland (formerly Humana) Regional Hospital. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, singing, dancing, and encouraging youth about the importance of education. She often spoke of her desire to write a book about her life. She was a graduate of the Dunbar School.Norma was a protective mother who will be missed. She leaves a host of relatives and friends who mourn her passing.A funeral service for Mrs. Norma Goggins will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 30, 2017 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Rev. Virgil Gardner and Rev. Kelly Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in the Mill Springs National Cemetery.It was Norma's request, that her casket be closed to the public, but, the family of Norma Goggins will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home from 12:00 noon until time for services on Monday.Pulaski Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family of Mrs. Norma Goggins.
