Wanda Sexton Persell, age 94, of Ferguson, KY went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 22, 2017 with her sister Margaret by her side. She was born June 2, 1922 in Ferguson, Ky., the daughter of the late Samuel and Mae Doolin Sexton. Other than her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Claude Persell whom she married on July 14, 1945; three brothers, James Sexton, Charles Sexton and Pat Sexton; four sisters, Marjorie Boone, Stella Holloway, Roberta Newell, and Arlene Schultian, and one sister-in-law, Nell Sexton. Wanda is survived by one sister, Margaret (and Dallas) Hafley, as well as three brothers-in-law, Tom Boone, James Holloway and Harold Newell and two sisters-in law Barbara Sexton, and Fayrene Sexton. Wanda is also survived by 17 nieces and nephews and she was a mother to them all. After graduating from Ferguson High School, she worked for Citizens National Bank where she retired after more than 30 years of employment. Wanda was a lifelong member of the Ferguson Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher, was a member of the Church Choir, and served as the Church Treasurer for many years. Funeral services for Wanda Persell will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday January 26, 2017 at the chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home. Burial will follow the services in the Somerset Cemetery. The family of Mrs. Wanda Persell will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home from 10 a.m. Thursday, January 26, 2017 until time for services.
