Mr. Doyle Dennis McClendon, son of the late B. S. and Lavonia McGahan McClendon, was born at Oil Center, KY on September 19, 1932 and he departed this life on January 9, 2017 having attained the age of 84 years.He was united in marriage to Minnie Harness McClendon on June 30th, 1956, and enjoyed more than 60 years of marriage. She survives. Other survivors include; two sons, Steven (and Mary Beth) McClendon and Richard (and Melissa) McClendon; two grandsons, Scott (and Stephanie) McClendon and Lucas Doyle McClendon; one granddaughter, Megan Rose McClendon; one great grandson, Jaxson Cooper McClendon; two step-grandsons, Matthew (and Margaret) Trowbridge and Kyle Trowbridge; two step granddaughters, Rebecca (and Stephen) Simpson, and Tiffany Roberts; two step-great granddaughters, Hailey Trowbridge and Kassidy Simpson; one step-great grandson, Kamden Simpson; three sisters-in-law, Helen McClendon, Lillie Ard and Linda (and Howard) Huff; a brother-in-law, Bobby Harness, and a host of nieces and nephews.Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by; four brothers, Dewey, Hughie, Dual "Dud" and Dorwin "Tobe" McClendon and two sisters, Winnie (and Lilburn) Burton and Virginia (and Dave) Farley.Mr. McClendon was a Korean War Army Veteran, and he retired from the State Highway Department after giving 39 1/2 years of service. He enjoyed traveling to Myrtle Beach and also enjoyed eating seafood and going to flea markets. He was of the Baptist Faith and a member of the West Somerset Baptist Church. He was a kind Christian man who loved his family and friends very much and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.A funeral service for Mr. Doyle Dennis McClendon will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 14, 2016 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Butte officiating. Burial will follow in the West Somerset Baptist Church Cemetery.The family of Mr. Doyle Dennis McClendon will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, January 13, 2016.In lieu of flowers the family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the West Somerset Cemetery Fund.Pulaski Funeral Home is honored to be in charge of all arrangements for Mr. Doyle Dennis McClendon.
