Vivian Merritt Vaught, daughter of the late Carl and Martha McDonald Merritt, was born February 14, 1925 and she departed this life on December 10, 2016 in Somerset, KY. having attained the age of 91 years. She was united in marriage to Mr. James "Jim" Vaught on December 3, 1950. He preceded her in death. She is survived by; one brother, Gay (and Duetta) Merritt; the following nephews, Rick (and Lisa Frye) Merritt, Jim (and Carol Latham) Dancy, Billy (and Peggy VanHook) Dancy, Larry (Paula) Withers, Hobie Withers, Gene Mark Withers; four nieces, Carla (and Tim) McKelvey, and Jana Watson Pendrey and Lessie VanHook and Linda Withers; eight great nieces, Kaitlyn Merritt, Katie Curli, Kelly Pendrey, Megain McKelvey, Laura Meadows, Debra Withers and Billie Ann Withers, and Jann Wright; and eight great nephews, Jamie Dancy, Danny McKelvey, Jack McKelvey, and Michael Curli, Paul David Withers, Jim VanHook, John VanHook, and Joe VanHook and one brother-in-law, Ralph Watson. Other than her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by; two sisters, Inez Merritt Dancy, and Charlotte Merritt Watson; two nephews, Donald Paul Withers, and Robert Ira "Ike" Withers; two great nephews, Brandon Aaron Merritt and Shane Dancy; and one brother-in-law, James V. Dancy. Vivian accepted Christ at an early age. She was a member of the Somerset First Baptist Church and was a beautician for more than 40 years. She loved crafts, cooking, playing the organ, and having family and friend gatherings. She was a kind lady who will be missed by her friends and family and leaves a host of other relatives who mourn her passing. The family of Vivian Vaught would like to thank all staff members at the Neighborhood who gave her such tremendous care during her time there. Contributions may take the form of donations to Hospice of Lake Cumberland A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m Saturday, December 17, 2016 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Eubank Cemetery. The family of Mrs. Vivian Merritt Vaught will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home from 12:00 noon Saturday, December 17, 2016 until time for services. Pulaski Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
