Elsie Athern Shaw

Elsie Athern Shaw was born in Frazier, KY Nov. 3, 1932 to the parents of George and Ottie Hammond Jewell. She went home to be with her Lord December 10, 2016 having attained the age of 84. She was united in marriage to Milton Shaw who preceded her in death. Early in her life, Elsie was a member of the Quinton Baptist Church . Later in her life she became a member of the Community Baptist Church. She was a homemaker that loved to praise the Lord with her church family. She is survived by the following children, Ron & (Tracy) Shaw, Doug "Bubba" & (Jo Nell) Shaw, Michelle & (Billy) Ramsey, and Pic Shaw; step-children, Milton & (Jill) Shaw, Jeff & (Teresa) Shaw, Donald & (Debbie) Shaw, Sandy & (Mark) Stevens, Pamela Shaw, Donna & (Al) Lehman; grandchildren, Megan Ard, Carrie Jo Shaw, Mary Shaw, Katie Shaw, Ben Shaw, and Julius Shaw; two brothers, Harold Jewell, and Robert (and Pat) Jewell; and two sisters, Gladys (and Gene) Wright, and Margaret Godsey. Other than her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by:one brother, Gather (and Francis) Hammond and one sister, Edith (and Fred) Harris and one brother-in-law, Regail Godsey. A funeral service was held at 11 AM, Thursday, December 15, 2016 at the Chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mill Springs National Cemetery, where she will be awaiting the resurrection morning. Visitation for Mrs. Elsie Athern Shaw was after 5 PM Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at Pulaski Funeral Home. Pulaski Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
