Raymond Thomas Richards, age 77, was reunited with family in Paradise on Friday, November 25, 2016. He was born on December 4, 1938 in Somerset and was raised in Grundy on Sugar Hill (Pulaski County, KY). He was a member of Burnet Chapel United Methodist Church. He was a father, farmer, grandfather, and retired United States Naval Chief Petty Officer. Raymond married the love of his life, Betty Lou (Goff) on January 25, 1962 and they had 54 wonderful years together, 20 of which were spent on military bases both in and out of country. She survives him and will miss him deeply every day. Raymond was preceded in death by his mother Lura (Maret) Richards, his father, Tolbert J. Richards, his brother James Roy “Shorty” Richards and his sisters Lucy Caroline (Richards) Gibson and Betty Joyce (Richards) Burton. Raymond is also survived by one brother, Billy Joe “B. J.” Richards of Indianapolis, IN, as well as two daughters Cindy L. (Richards) Ellsworth, her husband Greg, her stepchildren Chase Borg and Taylor Borg and Taylor’s daughter Evelyn Jane Palomo and Jennifer A. (Richards) Carr, her husband Tim Carr and their daughter Emily Carr. His special friend Gabriella will miss him as well. Raymond enjoyed woodworking, fishing, bowling, and spending time with his extended family. He was well known for his dry wit and affinity for making people laugh. We welcome all to come celebrate Raymond’s life with us either at the wake to be held Sunday, November 27th at 6:00 PM at Pulaski Funeral Home or at the funeral on Monday, November 28th at 2:00 PM also at Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. Johnny Strange officiating. Interment will be at Burnet Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery with military honors by American Legion Post #38. While we will all deeply miss him, we know how blessed we were to have had the time with him and we KNOW we will be reunited again someday. Pulaski Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
