Darrell L. Ballard

Darrell L. Ballard, 85, of Somerset, Kentucky passed away at the Jean Waddle Care Center after a long illness on Nov. 17, 2016. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Clara Yeary Ballard of Somerset, Ky; four children, Darren & (Cindi) Ballard of Frisco, TX., Timothy & (Rebecca) Ballard of Georgetown, Ky., Joyce & (Danny) Young of Sunbright, TN., and Rebecca & (Charles) Colvin of Lexington, Ky; one sister, Mildred Bush of Eubank, Ky; eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and five step-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by parents Charles and Zella Ballard; and one sister, Averill Gooch.He was a member of the Parkers Mill Road Baptist Church. He served four years in the Navy on the US Midway during the Korean War and also retired from (General Motors) Delco Products after 31 years in Kettering, Ohio. In his retirement he also enjoyed farming and camping. A funeral service will be held at 1 PM, Saturday, November 19, 2016 at the chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. Darry Hatfield officiating.Burial will be in Woodstock Cemetery.Visitation will be after 6 PM, Friday, November 18, 2016 at Pulaski Funeral Home.Pulaski Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
