Londis "Pete" Whitaker

Mr. Londis "Pete" Whitaker, son of the late George Louis and Effie Mae Whitson Whitaker, was born on June 01, 1923 in Stab, KY and departed this life on Friday, April 21, 2006 having attained the age of 82 years. He was united in marriage to Juanita Sears Whitaker, she preceded him in death. Survivors include; one niece, Jennifer (and Danny) Henson of Louisville, KY; two brothers, Glen (and Opal) Whitaker of Somerset, KY and Herman Daniel Whitaker of Indianapolis, IN; one sister, Bertha Sears of Somerset, KY and a host of other relatives, friends and church family. Other than his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by; one brother, James "J.L." Whitaker; three sisters, Carley Eyster, Betty Lou Freeland, and Violet Rose Randolph. Pete was a member of the East Somerset Baptist Church, and a member of the American Legion Post # 38 Honor Guard; He was a World War II Navy veteran, and a truck driver before retirement. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 25, 2006 at the chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Rev. Darvie Fenison officiating. He will be laid to rest at the Lakeside Memorial Gardens following the funeral services with Military honors to be conducted by the American Legion Post # 38. Pulaski Funeral Home is entrusted with all funeral arrangements.
