Carmon E. Erp, age. 80 of Clay Hill Road, Somerset, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, July 16, 2009 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
He was born in Drum, Kentucky on August 28, 1928, son of the late Elmer and Helen Sears Erp. He served in the Army Corps of Engineers in Panama and state-side during the Korean War. He was an Off-Set Pressman at Progress Lithographing and Westerman Printing Company in Cincinnati, Ohio.
He was also a Life-Squads man and Captain of the Deer Park Fire Department in Cincinnati, Ohio and Captain of the White Lily Fire Department in Somerset, Kentucky. Carmon was a member of the American Legion Post #38 of Somerset and recently baptized by Rev. Bobby Sexton of the Ferguson United Methodist Church.
Besides his parents Carmon is preceded in death by one sister: Virginia Erp, father and mother-in-law: Norman and Margaret Hassler, and one-sister-in-law: Corrine Hassler.
He is survived by his wife Jessie Hassler Erp, two sons; Robert Michael Erp of Boiceville, New York and Mark Edward Erp of Key West, Florida, one sister; Retta Tomlison of Somerset, two brothers; Vola (and Linda) Erp of Somerset and Ray Erp of Springdale, Ohio, three sister-in-laws: Norma Snyder of Willington, Delaware, Clara (and Anthony) Brosch of Reading, Ohio, Elnor (and Ron) Loebker of Cincinnati, Ohio ,eleven nieces; Brenda (and Dave) Evans of Mason, Ohio, Tammie Erp of Springdale, Ohio, Karen Gay (and Pete) Briese of Maryville, Tennessee, Victoria (and Greg) Fehr of Cincinnati, Ohio, Patty (and Josh) Katz of Cincinnati, Ohio, Andrea Brosch of Reading, Ohio, Pamela (and Harold) Winterbottom of Spring Valley, California, Amy Jo (and Mitch) Goodman of Spring Valley, California, Kendra Hilend of Lemon Grove, California ,Paula (and Dan) Carroll of Cincinnati, Ohio Polly (and Tom) Schroeder of Cincinnati, Ohio and nine nephews; Rondal Scott (and Amy) Tomlison of Erie, Pennsylvania, Robert Elmer (and Sarah) Erp of Burlington, Kentucky, Anthony (and Janet) Brosch of Cincinnati, Ohio, Jeff (and Yvette) Snyder of Wilmington, Delaware, Christopher Brosch of West Chester, Ohio, Ray Loebker of Cincinnati, Ohio, Ron(and Nancy) Loebker of Ripley, Ohio, Rex (and Mary Beth) Loebker of Cincinnati, Ohio and Ronald Norman Snyder of Fort Collins, Colorado.
Funeral services for Mr. Erp will be held on Monday, July 20, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Sexton and Rev. Charles Meece officiating. Burial will follow in the Clay Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family of Mr. Carmon Erp will receive friends on Sunday, July 19, 2009 from 5-8 p.m. at the Pulaski Funeral Home.
Military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post #38 Honor Gaurd.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Ferguson United Methodist Church Building Fund and/or to the Clay Hill Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
