Danny D. Ross, D.M.D.

Danny D. Ross, D.M.D.; 69, of Somerset, Kentucky passed away Monday, October 10, 2016 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.He is survived by his wife, Cheri Smith Ross whom he married on June 24, 1967; a daughter, Michelle Ross Altobella & (Gregg) of Muncie, IN; a son, Mark A. Ross & (Talara) of Somerset, KY; and four grandchildren, Allison Grace Altobella, Adam Gregory Altobella, Anna Clover Ross, and Afton Kale Ross. He was born in Glasgow, Kentucky on November 11, 1946 to parents, Leslie H. Ross and Irene Duncan Ross, who preceded him in death.  He graduated from Caverna High School, Horse Cave, KY, Class of 1964. He completed his undergraduate education at the University of Kentucky and graduated from the University of Louisville, School of Dentistry in 1971. He practiced dentistry for forty-five years in Somerset and was active in the American Dental Association, Kentucky Dental Association and the South Central District Society. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Somerset where he served as a Deacon and greatly enjoyed the long standing friendships with the members of his Men’s Sunday School Class.  His hobbies included boating on the lake, restoring old cars, motorcycle riding, trap shooting, observing the funny moments in life, and being creative in making or fixing about anything.  He was a beloved husband, father, “Grandpa DD”, and a friend and “Dr. Danny” to many.His funeral service will be held at 11 AM Friday, October 14, 2016 at First Baptist Church with Bro. French Harmon officiating.Burial will be at 3:30 PM Central Time in Horse Cave Cemetery.Visitation for Dr. Danny D. Ross, D.M.D.; will be from 5-8 PM Thursday, October 13, 2016 at First Baptist Church.The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to First Baptist Church of Somerset.Pulaski Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
