Nolen Lee Farmer

Mr. Nolen Lee Farmer,95, of the Dykes Community, son of the late Andrew and Sallie Jones Farmer, was born at Whitley County, KY on January 11, 1911 and departed this life peacefully on April 18, 2006 in Somerset,KY. He was united in marriage to Mrs. Marie Dykes Farmer, she preceded him in death. Other survivors include the following children; Edwain (and Sylvia Ann) Farmer. Everett M. (and Alma Willene) Farmer, Shirley (and Marvin) Bullock, Rebecca C. (Gordon) Chaney, Bertha R. Meece, Jerry D. (Carolyn), John S. (Faye) Farmer, and Donald A. (and Althea Mae) Farmer; the following brothers and sisters, Thelma Stringer, Beatrice Moore, and Ellis (and Jean)Farmer; 28 Grandchildren, 64 Great Grandchildren, and 11 Great Great Grandchildren. Other than his parents and wife, , he was preceded in death by; one son, Trellis Farmer; three sisters, Minnie Whitaker, Irene Burdine and Ruby Wells, and two brothers, Leonard and Clemon Farmer. Nolen was retired from the U.S. Forest Service, he was a farmer, a Kentucky Colonel, and a member of the Friendship Methodist Church. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him and he leaves a host of relatives, friends and church family who mourn his passing. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 22, 2006 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with burial following in the Poplarville Cemetery. The Family of Mr. Nolen Lee Farmer will receive friends at Pulaski Funeral Home from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, April 21, 2006.
