Ginger Curtis McPheron, daughter of the late Ralph “Red” and Maxine Hall McPheron, was born January 18, 1947 and she departed this life on October 4, 2016 having attained the age of 69 years. Survivors include her very special friend and companion, Larry Sears; one brother, Jason (and Charlotte) McPheron; three uncles, Gus Hall, Dave Hall and D.B. (and Sue) Hall and a host of other relatives and friends who mourn her passing. Ginger was an advocate of education for all children. She was a graduate from the University of Kentucky. She began her teaching career in Special Education in 1972 at Pulaski Elementary School. She also worked as a Special Education Consultant for the Kentucky Department of Education. Ginger was also a Special Education Director and teacher in the Somerset Independent School System. She was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, and a member of the Kentucky Retired Teachers Association. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Casey Chapter #30. The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Shriners Children’s Hospital 3229 Burnet Avenue Cincinnati, Ohio 45229. A funeral service for Ginger Curtis McPheron will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 8th at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Rev. Ed Amundson officiating. Burial will follow in the Somerset Cemetery. The family of Ginger Curtis McPheron will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home after 6:00 p.m. Friday October 7, 2016.
