Mary Elizabeth Cornett, 95, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed away Friday, September 16, 2016 in Somerset, Kentucky.
Mary was born on December 16, 1920 in Laurel County, Kentucky to the late Callie Morgan Burns and L.H. Yaden. She married Ira Jackson "Red" Cornett, son of the late Stella Alice Peters and George Blevins Cornett, on April 10, 1941.
Mary and her husband established Cornett Machine Shop in 1948. She was a long time member of First Baptist Church in Somerset.
Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter: Mary Ann Bingham; a grandson: Brett Cornett; a sister: Frances Wolfson; and a brother: Daniel Yaden.
Mary is survived by two sisters: Mildred Melton of Augusta, South Carolina, and Jo Ann (and William) Roberts of London, Kentucky; a brother: Ray (and Joyce) Yaden of London, Kentucky; three children: Arlene Cornett Warner, DAvid Lee (and Karen) Cornett, and Jack Wayne (and Dee) Cornett all of Somerset, Kentucky; a son-in-law: Donald Bingham of Birmingham, Alabama; ten grandchildren: Lisa (and Steve) Weldon of Birmingham, Alabama, Donna Bingham of Somerset, Kentucky; Jennifer (and Bob) Burgess of Somerset, Kentucky; Rick (and Gigi) Warner of Chapel Hill, North Carolina; Laura (and Tim) Hamilton of Somerset, Kentucky; Lindsey (and Aaron) Bivens of Lexington, Kentucky; Chris (and Brandy) Cornett of Somerset, Kentucky; Lauren Cornett, Isiah Cornett, and Joshua Cornett, all of Somerset, Kentucky; and fifteen great-grandchildren: Katie, Casey, and Riley Weldon; Morgan, Kendall, Grace and Jackson Burgess; Braeden and Camryn Loveless; Will and Caroline Bivens; Renner and Elizabeth Cornett; and Bryn and Bristol Cornett.
A funeral service will be held at 12 PM, Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at First Baptist Church of Somerset.
Burial will be in Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
Visitation for Ms. Mary Elizabeth Cornett will be after 11 AM, Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at First Baptist Church of Somerset.
