Jacqulyn "Sissy" Carol Whitaker, age 76, of Jasper Bend, Burnside, KY. Passed away from this life on Monday, September 12, 2016 at St. Joseph Hospital in London, KY.
Jacqulyn was born July 1, 1940 in Leslie County, daughter of the late William Vanover, Jr. and Bonnie Jean Hall Vanover. She was a homemaker and was affiliated with the Burnside Christian Church.
Jacqulyn enjoyed reading, watching TV (the Western Channel) and family gatherings. She loved being a mother, friend, and her savior, Jesus Christ.
Neighbors and friends often visited "Sissy Carol", as she was commonly known, just to hang out. She was warm, kindhearted and never turned anyone away. She loved helping others and would give you the shirt off of her back. She always had a smile and a kind word that made everyone love her.
She is survived by; five children, Denise (and Calvin) Mitchell of Corbin, KY, Leona (and Terry) Key of Clinton, TN, Todd (and Linda) Whitaker of Jacksboro, TN, Jettie Begley and William Vernon of London, KY and Jeff (and Missy) Whitaker of Clinton, TN; nine grandchildren, Bethanie Watts, Jason Watts, Shane Rector, Shauna Rector, Stacy Byrd, Joe Whitaker, Jacqulyn Brooke Jones, Katelyn Begley, and Brandon Whitaker; fourteen great grandchildren, Zachary Watts-Cornett, Bryce Howard, Izzabella Smith, Victoria Watts, Cassidy Watts, Kaden Watts, Jayleigh Watts, Kayleigh Oakes, Harley Oakes, Easton Byrd, Memphis Whitaker, John Wyatt Jones, Dawson Jones and Cannon Jones; six brothers, William Vanover III of Somerset, KY, Terry (and Linda) Vanover of Somerset, KY, Michael (and Roxanne) Vanover of Dayton, OH, Gary (and Nancy) Vanover of Tipp City, OH, Lonnie (and Robin) Vanover of Clayton, OH and Tim (and Nancy) Vanover of Tipp City, OH; two sister, Emma (and Denny) Shumaker of Somerset, KY, and Patty (and Tom) Vranesic of Englewood, OH; and last but certainly not least, a very special friend, Hargis Hacker of Somerset, KY. "Sissy Carol" was a kind lady who will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She leaves a vast host of other relatives and friends who mourn her passing.
A funeral service for Jacqulyn will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 16, 2016 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Pastor Harlan Ogle officiating. Burial will follow in the Sloans Valley Cemetery.
The family of Jacqulyn Whitaker will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. Friday until time for services.
