Eugenia Dare Eure Taylor ended her life’s journey at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital on August 26, 2016. She was the wife of Alfred Raleigh Taylor. She was born on December 11, 1931 to her parents, Ruby Victoria Byrd Eure and Henry Lee Eure in Gates County, North Carolina, and the preceded her in death. She was of the Baptist Faith. Eugenia married Alfred R. Taylor, who survives, on November 9, 1946 in Portsmouth, Virginia. She was a loving wife and mother. They had two daughters: Patricia Dare Taylor Stringer (John Gary) of Somerset, KY, and Teri Ann Taylor Jasper of Newport News, VA, who survive. Eugenia and Alfred have four grandchildren: Courtney Dare Stringer Hollis (Kevin) of Richmond, KY, John Cory Stringer (Emily) of Lexington, KY, Dustin Hollis Jasper (Melody Dalton, finance’) of Newport News, VA, and Cameron Taylor Jasper (Stefanie) of Newport News, VA. Eugenia and Alfred have six great-grandchildren: Haley Dare Hollis, Kaleb Eugene Hollis, Raleigh Jean Hollis, Brody Landon Parks, Taylor Ann Jasper and Madison Marie Jas per. Eugenia’s siblings who preceded her in death were: a sister who died in infancy; Ruby Victoria Eure; Mary “Sis” Brinkley, and the following brothers, Eddie Eure, and Haywood Eure. She is survived by a sister, Ellen Brown and a brother, Franklin Rocco Eure. Eugenia is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. The family would like to acknowledge the efforts of Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital, the doctors and nurses on the second floor unit and especially to the angels in the Hospice Unit. Eugenia has been a wonderful guide to her family, providing a great life for us. Her quick smile, easy laugh and loving ways will be missed but held close to us in our hearts. Look to the stars. A celebration of life service will be observed at 12:00 noon, Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at the Pulaski Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Mill Springs National Cemetery. The family of Mrs. Taylor will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 31, 2016 until time for services. The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Liberty Center Foundation or the charity of one’s choice. Pulaski Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family of Mrs. Eugenia Dare Eure Taylor.
