Rachel Crawford Alexander, 91, of Somerset, Died Wednesday, April 12, 2006, at Sunrise Manor Nursing Home in Somerset.
A Leslie County Native, she was born July 3, 1914, daughter of the late Farmer and Mary Alice Roberts Crawford. She was a homemaker and a member of the Methodist Faith.
Survivors include a son, Carl (and Mary) Alexander, Cincinnati; four daughter, Bertha (and the late Norman) Hargis, Somerset, Doshia (and J.E.) Phelps, Whitley City, Lois (and Ralph) Taylor, Somerset, and Edith (and the late Ernest) Cannon, Waynesburg; a brother, Taylor (and the late Wilma) Crawford, Lexington; a sister-in-law, Lena Crawford, Milford, OH; two sisters, Ola (and the Late Delbert) Erp, Somerset, and Joan (and Sim) Langdon, Hamilton, OH; 10 grandchildren, Bruce, Frances, Shiela Kay, Dennis, Nicky, Angelia, Fred, Ricky, Galen and Sharon; 13 great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Wesley Alexander, whom she married in Jamestown, TN; her parents; a daughter, Retha (and the late Walt) Ricker; four sisters, Mae (and the late Elbert) Langdon, Allie Crawford, Nan Crawford, and Grace (and the late Troy) Snipes; three brothers, Lee (and the Late Doshia) Crawford, Lester Crawford and Walter (and the late Lillie) Crawford; a grandson, Norman Ricky Hargis; and a great grandson, Brad Counts.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 14, 2006 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Rev. Leonard Sears officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodall Cemetery. The family of Rachel Alexander will receive friends at Pulaski Funeral Home from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 13, 2006.
