Ruby J. Owens

Ruby J. Owens, 95, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, August 6, 2016 at Somerwoods Nursing & Rehabilitation. She was born in Hale, Kentucky on October 26, 1920, daughter of the late Monroe and Mary Belle Haynes Stringer. She was a homemaker and a member of Duke Memorial Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Paul Owens, whom she married on December 24, 1962, daughter, Donna Cox of West Chester, OH, granddaughter, Ronda Kneipp & (Raphael), great-grandson, Ryan Kneipp, step son, Gregory S. Owens & (Melanie) of Elizabeth City, NC, step daughter, Deborah Nonemaker of Barstow, CA, sister, Elsie M. Phelps of Somerset, step grandchildren, Mistie Osterhouse & (Chris), Erin Almquist, Bethany King & (Chris), Alicia Owens, Leslie & (James), Ruth Dill, April Nonemaker, Imogene Nonemaker and Karen Lopez and twelve step great-grandchildren. She will be mourned by many nieces, nephews, friends, brother-in-law and sisters-in-law. She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, Delbert Stringer, Dennie Stringer, Guy Stringer, Doyle Stringer and Raymond Stringer and one sister, Pauline Tapp. Visitation will be after 10:30 AM Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at Pulaski Funeral Home until time for services. A funeral service will be held at 1 PM Tuesday at Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. Randy Smith and Bro. Clyde Strunk officiating. A graveside service will be at 12 Noon Wednesday, August 10, 2016 in Crown Hill Memorial Park in Cincinnati, Ohio with Bro. Ray Shepherd officiating. Burial will be in Crown Hill Memorial Park in Cincinnati, Ohio. In lieu of flowers the family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Hospice of Lake Cumberland and / or The Gideon Memorial Bible Plan Pulaski Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
