Mary Hammock, daughter of the late Elige and Bertha Ballou Nelson, was born in McCreary County, KY on May 16, 1930 and she departed this life on Monday, June 15, 2009 having attained the age of 79 years.
She was united in marriage to Mr. Oren E. Hammock, he preceded her in death.
Survivors include; two sons, Michael (and Susan) Hammock of Burnside, KY and E. Dewayne (and Connie) Hammock of Somerset, KY; two daughters, Mary Hardwick of Somerset, KY and Elizabeth (and Dillard) Silvers also of Somerset, KY; ten grandchildren, Melissa Hammock, Michael "Mickey" Hammock, Dr. Jay Hammock, Greg Martin, Angela Marie Grogan, Edward Dewayne Hammock, Dewayne Allen Hammock, Melina Dawn Hammock, Susan Smith, and Darren Lee Silvers, and 12 great grandchildren.
Other than her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Robert, Ray, Carol and Ralph Nelson, one son, James Hammock and two grandchildren, Robert Keith Grogan, and Angel Dawn Brooks.
Mary was a homemaker, and she attended the Cotter Avenue Church of God. She was a kind lady who will be greatly missed by all who knew her and she leaves a host of relatives and friends who mourn her passing.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 19, 2009 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. Levi Lainhart officiating. Burial will follow in the Mill Springs National Cemetery.
The family of Mrs. Mary Hammock will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home after 6:00 p.m. Thursday, June 18, 2009 until after services.
