Walter L. Tarter

Mr. Walter L. Tarter, the son of the late Enos and Lula (Phillips) Tarter was born on October 11, 1930 in Somerset, Kentucky and departed this life on Monday, June 15, 2009 at the Rockcastle Hospital in Mt. Vernon having attained the age of 78 years old. Mr. Tarter is survived by two daughters; Margaret (and Edwin) Reynolds of Indianapolis, Indiana, Rebecca (and Mark) Banta of Nicholasville, Kentucky, one sister; Mary Lou Vaught of Somerset, Kentucky, two grandsons; Jered (and Shayna) Petrey and Matthew Petrey and his Fiancé Allison McMillan. Walter also leaves behind one great grandson; Jonathan Petrey and one special niece; Anna Whitis of Science Hill, Kentucky. Other than his parents Mr. Tarter is preceded in death by one sister; Bertie Tarter. Walter worked as a mechanic for many years at the Citizens Chevrolet Garage and was a member of the Duke Memorial Baptist Church. Walter loved animals and gardening. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Funeral services for Mr. Walter Tarter will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. David Morris officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery. The family of Walter will receive friends on Wednesday, June 17, 2009 from 6-8 p.m. at the Pulaski Funeral Home. Pulaski Funeral Home is honored to be in charge of all arrangements for Mr. Walter L. Tarter.
