Hubert D. Tarter, age 88, of the Neighborhood passed away from this life to his eternal home on July 31, 2016 at Jean Waddle Hospice Care in Somerset, Kentucky.
He was born on December 23, 1927 at Norfleet, KY; the son of the late Oda M Tarter and Blanche Lee Clark Tarter. Hubert attended Nancy High School and was a U.S. Air Force Veteran in 1946-1947. He retired from General Electric Co. in Somerset.
Hubert was brought up in a good Christian home and made his profession in Christ at an early age. In his adult life, his love of the Lord motivated him to serve in many capacities in his church. At the time of his passing, he was a member of Duke Memorial Baptist Church in Somerset, Kentucky.
He was married to Anna Lee Huddleston on November 21, 19541 at Calvary Baptist with Charles Jenkins officiating.
To this union was born a son, Lanny G. Tarter who preceded his father in death on April 28, 1991. Also preceding him were his parents, Oda M. and Blanche Lee Tarter, his wife’s parents C. Delmer and Loida Huddleston, a brother Harold Tarter and brother-in-law, James Norfleet.
Survivors are his wife, Anna Lee, two brothers, Lowerll Tarter, wife Eltie; J.C. Tarter, wife Sue; a sister, Helen Norfleet. Also surviving a sister-in-law, Clyda Vanhook, nieces Tina Vanhook, Gina Saindon, Sherie Lightener, Pam Williams, Lisa Norfleet, Treva Shultz, Jamie Green, Julie Osman; nephews, Bruce Tarter, Donald Tarter, and many great nieces and nephews.
Hubert was blessed to have a good loving and caring church family, friends, and neighbors, including Smith Vanhook and Wendell Denney, Ron Neikirk all who helped in so many, many ways.
A funeral service will be held 1 PM Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. Randy Smith.
Burial will be in Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
Visitation for Hubert D. Tarter will be on Wednesday August 3, 2016 after 10 AM at Pulaski Funeral Home.
