Mrs. Gladys Proffitt, daughter of the late James and Leona Hall, was born in Perry County, KY on July 23, 1934 and she departed this life on Monday, May 25, 2009 in Tazewell, Tennessee having attained the age of 74 years. She was united in marriage to Mr. James Proffitt, he preceded her in death. Survivors include, James; her companion of 27 years; one sister, Bonnie Vanover of Sloans Valley, KY; and a niece, Carol Whitaker of Burnside, Kentucky.
Other that her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by one brother, Mr. Edward Hall, and three sisters, Verna Parsons, Vertie May Pratt, and Leiza Caudill.
Gladys was a member of the Church of Christ in Vico, KY. She was a kind person who will be greatly missed by all who knew her and she leaves a host of nieces and nephews and friends who mourn her passing.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 28, 2009 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. Larry Butte officiating. Burial will follow in the Sloans Valley Cemetery.
