Violet Mae Haynes, daughter of the late Steve and Desdia Hair Thompson, was born at Jugornot, Kentucky on Thursday, May 22, 1941 and she was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 20, 2016 having attained the age of 74 years 11 months and 28 days.
She was united in marriage to Mr. Willie “Bill” Haynes. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include; Three daughters, Kathy Ellis (and her husband Mark), Vicki Cordell (and her husband Kevin), and Tami Diamond; five grandchildren, Samuel Eastham, Heather Stevens (and her husband Chad), Douglas Diamond, Mark Ellis, Jr., and Chris Cordell; three brothers, Roy Thompson, Orville Thompson, and Wayne Thompson; two sisters, Beulah Casada and Joanne Thompson and 8 great great grandchildren.
Other than her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by; one son, Johnny Haynes; one brother, Harmon Thompson and four sisters, Shirley Bray, Viola Martin, Bonnie Reed, and Letha Lowery.
Violet attended Cedar Grove Baptist Church for many years and taught the Tiny Tots Sunday School Class for close to 20 years. She later became a member of the Piney Grove Baptist Church #1 where she remained a member until the time of her passing. Violet was a strong and independent lady who loved life, and her family. She was a kind, Christian lady who will be greatly missed by all who knew her and she leaves a host of relatives and friends who mourn her passing.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. Don Kennedy officiating. Burial will follow in the Haynes Cemetery.
The family of Violet Mae Haynes will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. Wednesday until time for services.
