Maude Silvers, daughter of the late Ulysses Grant and Mary Caroline Mayfield Whitaker, was born in the Acorn – Ano Community of Pulaski County, KY on January 05, 1917 and she departed this life on Friday, May 22, 2009 in the presence of her family having attained the age of 92 years.
She was united in marriage to Mr. Arlen Silvers, he preceded her in death. Survivors include; one daughter, Mary (and Dan) Jackson of Science Hill, KY; two granddaughters, Samantha and Dianna Jackson; one great granddaughter, Makayla Emerson; one niece, Judy (and Bill) Adams of Bardstown, KY; and two nephews, Harry Whitaker of Ferguson, KY and U.G. Crenshaw of Michigan as well as several other relatives and friends who mourn her passing.
Maude was an independent business woman and a homemaker. She was a member of the Acorn Church of God, and she enjoyed doing the Lords work. She was a kind lady who will be missed by all who knew her.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at the Acorn Church of God with Rev. Bill Adams officiating. Burial will follow in the Somerset Cemetery.
The family of Mrs. Maude Silvers will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home after 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 26th, and she will lie in state at the church from 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 27th until time for services.
