Roberta Merlene Tomlinson Ping, 98, of the Ruth Community, passed away Thursday, May 12, 2016 at the home of her daughter. Roberta was born in Ruth on April 16, 1918. Roberta was the daughter of the late George Riley and Mary Alexander Tomlinson. Roberta was a homemaker, and a member of Clay Hill Baptist Church. Survivors include her daughter, Donna and (Dewey) Bradley; four grandchildren, Kevin and (Melissa) Bradley, Delana & (Christopher) Smith, Lynita & (Eduardo) Nazario, and Nicholas & (Kathleen) Bradley; and five great-grandsons, Laiken, Gabriel, Zavier Nazario, Asher Smith, and Keene Bradley. Roberta was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gales Ping; two brothers, Oscar and William Tomlinson; and five sisters, Myrtle Richardson, Emma Tomlinson, Dorothy Tomlinson, Martha Hughes, and Jessie Tomlinson. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at the chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. Don Branscum officiating. Burial will be in Clay Hill Cemetery. Visitation for Roberta Merlene Tomlinson Ping will be after 6 PM, Monday, May 16, 2016 at Pulaski Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Hospice of Lake Cumberland or the Clay Hill Cemetery Fund. Pulaski Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
