Mrs. Mildred E. Smith

August 17, 1929 — April 21, 2016

Mrs. Mildred E. Smith, daughter of the late Martin Sebastian and Bessie Bell Haga Blevins, was born at Bee Lick, Kentucky on August 17, 1929 and she entered eternal rest on Wednesday, April 21, 2016 having attained the age of 86 years. She was united in marriage to Mr. Vola Smith on December 2, 1950 in Somerset, Kentucky. He survives. Other survivors include; three sons, Dillard (and Rosemary) Smith, Lynn (and Linda) Smith and Jeffery (and Susie) Smith all of Somerset; two daughters, Beverly Flynn of Bronston, and Cathy (and Greg) Suttle of Somerset; twelve grandchildren, Stacy Wells, D.J. Smith, Heather Walden, Joshua Smith, Cora Beth Smith, Summer Bullock, Miranda Brown, Hadley Bullock, Barry Flynn, Shannon Haynes, Ryan Haynes and Tyler Haynes; thirteen great grandchildren and one step great grandchild; and one brother, Elmer Blevins of Somerset, Kentucky. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by one son-in-law, Stanley Flynn; one grandchild, Jeremy Flynn; one brother, Victor Blevins, and four sisters, Edna Hawk, Stella Dardeen, Hester Raney, and Wilma Harris. Mildred was a member of the Pleasant Run Baptist Church, she had many items of interest including but not limited to, sewing, painting and drawing, cooking, watching and supporting the University of Kentucky Wildcats, and most of all she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a kind lady who will be deeply missed by all who knew her and she leaves a host of relatives and friends who mourn her passing. A funeral service for Mrs. Smith will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 25, 2016 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. Ron Barnett and Bro. Harold Harris officiating. Burial will follow in the Mize Cemetery. The family of Mrs. Smith will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home after 5:00 p.m. Sunday, April 24, 2016. In lieu of flowers the family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Mize Cemetery Fund. Pulaski Funeral Home is honored to be in charge of all arrangements for Mrs. Mildred Smith.
