Mrs. Bobbie Busby Hicks, age 77, of Meridian, Mississippi, died Saturday, March 11, 2006, at her home. Born on March 20, 1928 and reared in Winston Country, Mrs. Hicks was a longtime member of Poplar Springs Drive Baptist Church, where she was very active in her Sunday School Class. Mrs. Hicks made friends with everyone she met.
Survivors include; her husband, Mr. S. P. Hicks of Meridian, Mississippi; seven nephews, Wendell Rogers and his wife, Helen, Hershel Rogers and his wife Irene, and Ronald Dale, all of Louisville, Mississippi, Randy Kemp and Lucky Lisenbe and his wife, Carol, all of Meridian, Jimmy W. Kemp and his wife, Peggy of Noxapator, and Scotty Lisenbe and his wife Gaye of Destin, Fla.; two nieces, Prevette Allen of Meridian and Rebecca Wright and her husband, Billy, of Starkville; a stepdaughter; Glenda Creekmore and her husband, Ken, of Somerset, KY; a stepson, Larry Hicks and his wife, Susan, of Hattiesburg; a special friend, Betsy Squire of Crawfordville, Fla.; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Services for Bobbie Busby Hicks were held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, March 13, 2006 at the Chapel of the Barham Funeral Home with Rev. James Ruffin and Rev. Bill Hardin officiating. Burial followed in the Oddfellows Cemetery in Quitman, Mississippi. The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Poplar Springs Drive Baptist Church and Harpers Hospice.
