Mrs. Lorene Lewis, daughter of the late Ansel Edgar and Flossie Colyer Nichols, was born at Tateville, Kentucky on February 01, 1921 and she departed this life on Sunday, February 14, 2016 having attained the age of 95 years.
She was united in marriage to Mr. Roland M Lewis. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include; two daughters, Jean Brummett and Carol Ann (and Billy) Lovell both of Tateville, Kentucky; seven grandchildren, Randy Lewis, Scotty Lewis, Michael Brummett, Paula Tucker, Jimmy Brummett, Eddie Brummett, and Troy Lovell; one brother, Chester Nicolas of Danville, Kentucky, and two sisters, Virginia (and Lloyd) Shelton of Inverness, Florida and Georgia Stout of Tateville, Kentucky and a vast host of great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and other relatives and friends who mourn her passing.
Other than her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by; one son, Charles Edward Lewis; one brother, Cecil Nicolas, one sister, Ruby Bolin; a son-in-law, Buddy Brummett; and a daughter-in-law, Helene Lewis Byrd.
Lorene was the owner of Sycamore Grocery in Tateville, Kentucky before she became Postmaster at the Tateville Post Office for 22 years. She was also a member of the Eastern Star and a member of the Grave Hill Baptist Church.
A Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 18, 2016 at the Grave Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Darry Hatfield and Rev. Josh Wesley officiating. Burial will follow in the Grave Hill Cemetery.
The family of Mrs. Lorene Lewis will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, February 17, 2016 and at the Grave Hill Baptist Church from 12:00 noon Thursday until time for services.
In lieu of flowers the family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Grave Hill Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 85, Tateville, Kentucky 42558.
