Zelma Brown Jones

Zelma Brown Jones, daughter of the late William and Margaret A. Keeney Brown, was born in Somerset, KY on September 16, 1907 and departed this life on Tuesday, March 21, 2006 at Somerset Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Somerset, KY having attained the age of 98 years. She was united in marriage to Mr. Ernest Jones on April 2, 1924 in Winfield, Tennessee. He preceded her in death in 1993. Survivors include; one daughter, Ernestine McCart and her husband Dock of Somerset, KY; one brother, Howard Brown of Chattanooga, Tennessee, several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives. Other than her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by; four brothers, Virgil, Lewis, Arley, and Leonard Brown; and two sisters, Catherine Bolin and Elsie Head. Zelma was a homemaker and a member of the Somerset First Baptist Church. She was a kind lady who will be greatly missed by those who knew her. Funeral services for Mrs. Jones will be held at the Pulaski Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 24, 2006 with Dr. John Roark officiating. Zelma will be laid to rest following the services in the Somerset Cemetery. The family of Zelma Jones will receive friends at Pulaski Funeral Home after 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 24, 2006 until after services. In Lieu of flowers, the family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Gideon Memorial Bible Plan or the Somerset First Baptist Church Building Fund in Zelma's Memory. Pulaski Funeral Home is entrusted with all funeral arrangements.
