Janice Helen Whitis Cottongim

Janice Helen Whitis Cottongim, 76, of the Bent Community, Shopville departed this life on January 9th, 2016 at the Jean Waddle Hospice of Lake Cumberland Unit of Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. She was born on August 16th, 1939 to Frank and Pearl Whitis of Goodwater, Pulaski County. She was a homemaker, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to all that knew her. She was a member of Barnesburg Baptist Church, Shopville, and past member of New Hope Baptist Church of the Bent Community. Survivors include her daughter, Cristy Lee Cottongim, Somerset; a granddaughter, Ashlee Jeanette Moore Dawson, Kenton, TN; a grandson, Krystopher Andrew Moore, Somerset; a son-in-law Michael Ray Dawson, Kenton, TN; and her pride and joy, a great granddaughter, Madysen KaRae Proffitt, Somerset. A sister, Geraldine Whitis Whitaker, Goodwater; and a brother, Roger Whitis, Mt. Victory and one step-sister, Rebecca Hines of Science Hill. She is preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Cottongim; her parents, Frank and Pearl Whitis; and two brothers, Ronald and Frankie Whitis. Visitation for Mrs. Janice Cottongim will be from 11-2pm on Wednesday January 13th, 2016 with funeral beginning at 2pm at the chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home with Rev. Tony Hall officiating. Burial will be in the Woodall Cemetery, Somerset. Family asked that any donations made in her honor, be made to Hospice of Lake Cumberland and/or the Woodall Cemetery Fund. Pulaski Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mrs. Janice Cottongim during this time.
