Christine Meece

September 9, 1923 — December 30, 2015

Christine Meece, age 92 of Somerset, passed away Wednesday December 30, 2015 at Cumberland Nursing and Rehab. She was the daughter of the late Paris Frank and Minnie Hargis Meece. Christine was united in marriage to Claude Meece, Sr. who preceded her in death in 1995. To this union of 54 years was born three children, Claude Jr. (and his late wife Verna) Meece, Vernon (and Bertha) Meece and Kathy (and Edward) Bray; grandchildren, Mark (and Tina) Meece, Anna (and Monty) Carty, Jalaine (and Tim) Warren and Jonathan Bray; great grandchildren, Jalana (and Chris) Welch, David Warren, Timmera Warren and Bethany Meece; one great great granddaughter, Gracelyn Marie Welch. Christine was preceded in death by her husband, daughter-in-law, and two grandchildren, Michael and Angela Meece. Christine was a member of the White Lily Baptist Church. In times past, she enjoyed reading, and writing poems and singing at church. She was a correspondent for the Commonwealth-Journal, writing the Grade Community News for many years, along with writing poetry, she also enjoyed quilting and her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 5, 2015 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. Ernest Warren and Bro. Daniel Woodcock officiating. Burial will follow in the White Lily Cemetery. The family of Mrs. Meece will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home after 5:00 p.m. Monday, January 4, 2015. Pulaski Funeral Home is honored to be in charge of all arrangements for Mrs. Christine Meece.
