Mrs. Willena Elizabeth Stigall Alexander

Willena Elizabeth Stigall Alexander, Age 74, left this earth to her heavenly home on April 8, 2009 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. She was born to the late John and Bessie Mae Newell Stigall on September 24, 1934. Willena is survived by her daughter, Yvonne (and George) Pennington of Somerset, KY; her granddaughter, Betsey Y. Pennington; sisters, Ruby Stigall, of Somerset, KY and Vadonna Jean (and George) Riley of Virginia and her sister-in-law, Geneva St. Cyr. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John W. Alexander; her brothers, John Jr., Charles, Thomas and Joesph Stigall; her sister, Lelia Mae Stigall and her grandson, Quinston Pennington. She was a willing worker in her church; the Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in the dining room and in the Choir. Most of her life she worked in the Restaurant industry, beginning with the Greyhound Inn, the Gregory Restaurant, and Roses Cafeteria. After she retired, she baby sat with her niece; Ciera Alexander and Patrick Williams until they started school. She loved all children and especially her granddaughter Betsy. She leaves a host of nieces, nephews and friends to mourn her passing. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, April 13, 3009 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Rev. Siebert Taylor officiating, burial will follow in the Mill Springs National Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home after 10:00 a.m. Monday morning until after funeral services.
