Lena Pearl Neikirk, 94, daughter of the late Grover and Lula Pearl Neikirk passed away in Danville on December 6, 2015. She was born on August 12, 1921 in the Possum Trot area of Pulaski County. She graduated from Somerset High School where she was a member of the National Honor Society. She later received an Associate Degree from Jefferson Community College. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Somerset where she taught the Adult Women Sunday School Class for several years. She was known throughout Pulaski County as the "Stanley Dealer" since she worked as a sales representative for Stanley Home Products during the 50's and 60's. She also worked for the Neikirk Insurance Agency for several years then moved to Louisville to be the secretary of her late brother-in-law, Willis Quiggens, Plumbing Company.
She is survived by three sons, David William Jones (Connie) of Frankfort, George Phillip Jones (Gayle), of Danville, Larry Kent Jones ( Janet) of Fairdale. Also surviving are three grand children Candi Whitmer (Blaine) of Bowling Green, Douglas Jones of Somerset, Brian Jones (Amy) of Little Rock, Arkansas and eight great grand children.
She was preceded in death by her parents Lula Pearl and Grover P. Neikirk and seven siblings, Russell, Homer, Lucille, Ray, Roy, Glenn, Robert and two grand children Melissa New-Wilburn and Shawn Jones.
Visitation for Lena Pearl Neikirk-Jones will be held at the Pulaski Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 9th from 5:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M.
A celebration honoring the life of Lena Pearl Neikirk-Jones will be held at the Chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home on Thursday, December 10th at 11:00 A.M.
Interment will follow at the Somerset Cemetery.
