Our loving “Sweetie” John Joseph Bloemer, passed away peacefully on November 21, 2015 at The Baptist Convalescent Home in Newport, KY. He was 92 years old.
John was born and raised in Covington, KY. Sweetie proudly served in WWII in the United States Army Air Corps Division where he was stationed in London, England. He was also a lifetime member of the Masonic Order. He and his wife Netha were married for 57 years and both had a strong Christian faith & were active members in their church. Throughout their marriage they enjoyed square dancing, raising his chickens, traveling, camping, fishing, playing games with the family, and listening to gospel & Irish music. All who knew Sweetie enjoyed his mischievous yet playful personality.
He is survived by wife Netha, stepson Rodney Richarson, preceded in death by stepson Robert Richarson and daughter Debbie Shurley. Also, survived by 6 grandchildren & 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. at the Pulaski Funeral Home in Somerset, KY on Nov 25, 2015.
Visitation will begin from 11-1pm and service to follow at the funeral home.
Burial will take place at 2:30pm at Mill Springs National Cemetery with military honors conducted by the American Legion Post # 38.
