Betty Hargis

Betty Berniece Hargis, age 75 of the White Lily Community departed this life to be with her Lord and Savior on October 26, 2015 with her husband by her side. Betty was born to the late Howard C. and Edna Mounce. She was a faithful member of White Lily Baptist Church. She retired from Palm Beach Co. She loved to quilt, garden, and spend time with her family and friends at the old Sear’s School House. She is survived by her husband Russell Hargis, two daughters, Sylvia & (Jerry) Whitaker of Somerset and Tammy & (Tracy) Farmer of Nancy, sisters are Willene & (Marlow) Farmer of Somerset and Janet & (Elvin) Brinson of Somerset, brother, Denton Mounce, sister-in-law, Carolyn Mounce, step sisters, Becky & (Hoy) Hines of Science Hill, Diana & (Howard) Lewis of Harrogate, TN, step brothers, David & (Sheila) Dykes of Somerset and Ray Dykes of Somerset, three grandchildren, Jessica & (Zeke) Reynolds of Somerset, Justin Whitaker of Somerset and Trevor Farmer of Nancy and one great-grandchild, Riley Reynolds of Somerset. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her step mother, Ina Mounce, her brother, Carl Wayne “Buster’ Mounce, step sister, Dorothy Elaine Barnett and step brother, Ronald Dykes. A funeral service will be held at 1 PM Thursday, October 29, 2015 at Pulaski Funeral Home. Burial will be in Hargis Cemetery. Visitation will be after 5 PM Wednesday at Pulaski Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Jerry Whitaker, Tracy Farmer, Zeke Reynolds, Trevor Farmer, Marlow Farmer and Johnny Farmer. The family would like to give a special “Thank You” to the Neuro Critical Care, Surgical Unit of Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. Pulaski Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
