William Claude “Bill” Dye, 88, of Somerset, Ky., departed this life on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at Cumberland Nursing and Rehab in Somerset, Ky. Claude was born in the Turkey Creek community of Mintonville, Ky. on December 13, 1926, to the late Homer and Desda Dalton Dye. He married Allene Faye Harper on July 28, 1945. They have three children from their union. He enjoyed farming, and worked as a Medical Technician for over 28 years at Somerset City Hospital and Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital, where he retired. He was of the Baptist faith. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Allene Faye Harper Dye; two sons, Bill (and Midge) Dye of Somerset, Ky., and Paul (and Janice) Dye of Nancy, Ky.; one daughter, Brenda Sue Dye Coner of Science Hill, Ky. Seven grandchildren, Charles (and Cara) Dye, Patrick (and Dwana) Dye, Billy (and Angela) Dye, Mollie (and Jason) Neal, David Dye, Jonathan (and Angie) Dye, and Sarah (and Craig) Wesley; and 11 great grandchildren. Also surviving is one brother in law, Earnest Dalton of Science Hill, Ky. Preceding him in death are his parents, Homer and Desda Dalton Dye; two brothers, Rad (and Mae) Dye, and Edsel Dye; one sister, Goldie Dalton; a daughter in law, Patricia Eastham Dye; one grandchild; and a son in law, Leonard Ed Coner. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home, followed by the funeral service at 1 p.m. Bro. Ernest Warren and Bro. Linville Dalton will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Science Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to The Gideon Memorial Bible Fund. Pulaski Funeral Home is honored to be in charge of all arrangements.
