Mr. Carl Meece

Mr. Carl Meece, son of the late Arthur and Mary Mayfield Meece, was born at Colo, KY on July 14, 1928 and he departed this life on August 27, 2015 in Somerset, KY having attained the age of 87 years. He was united in marriage to Mrs. Lois Baker Meece, she preceded him in death. Survivors of this union include three children; one son, Richard (and Kathy) Meece; and two daughters, Barbara (and Johnny) Dobbs, and Nancy (and Frankie) Woodall all of Somerset, KY. Also surviving is one sister, Effie Mae Hargis of Somerset, KY; six grandchildren, Jason Woodall of Somerset, KY, Rachel (and Rocky) Wagers of London, KY, Daniel Meece of London, KY, Justin Meece of Somerset, KY, Robyn (and Eddie) Brumley of Science Hill, KY, and John Dobbs of Somerset, KY and the following great grandchildren, Tyler Finley, Abby Meece, Alex Meece, Haley Meece, Morgan Meece, Lucas Meece, Isabella Meece, and Tiras Wagers. Other than his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, Zelma (and Alonzo) Stevens, a brother, Robert (and Odeana) Meece and a brother and sister who died in infancy. Carl worked for Cumberland Wood and Chair for many years until the plant closed. He also was a custodian and member of the White Lily Baptist Church for many years until his illness. He enjoyed his church work and he had tremendous love for his church family. Carl was a kind person who will be greatly missed by all who knew him, he leaves a host of relatives and friends who mourn his passing. Funeral services will be held at the Pulaski Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 30, 2015 with Bro. Daniel Woodcock and Bro. Ernest Warren officiating. Burial will follow in the White Lily Cemetery. The family of Mr. Carl Meece will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, August 29, 2015. In lieu of flowers, the family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Hospice of Lake Cumberland, or the White Lily Cemetery Fund. Pulaski Funeral Home is honored to be assisting the family of Mr. Carl Meece .
