Mr. Ralph L. Spillman, son of the late Paul Crawford and Pearl Miller Spillman, passed away on Friday, July 31, at Baptist Health in Lexington, KY. He was born in Paint Lick, KY and graduated from Paint Lick High School before entering WWII. He was a lifelong resident of Garrard and Madison Counties. Mr. Spillman moved to Pulaski County after serving more than 60 years in automotive sales. He was the previous owner of Salyer-Spillman Ford and Madison Motors in Madison County. Ralph was first married to Maggie Wells Spillman. She preceded him in death. He married Elizabeth Adams Spillman on August 3, 1951, she survives. Other survivors include; one son, David (and Kay) Spillman and one grandson, Forrest Spillman. Other than his parents and first wife, she is also preceded in death by; two brothers, Paul Miller Spillman and Harold Spillman; and two sisters, Clarice Spillman Patton and Ann Spillman Swinford. Ralph was a World War II and Korean War navy veteran, He also retired from the US Navy reserves. He had a passion for serving others in the Shriners organization. He was a member of the Olieka Temple in Lexington, KY and the Madison County Shrine Club where he was active in fund-raising. He was also a member of the VFW and the Sons of American Revolution. Ralph was a kind person who loved life and family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. John LaRusch officiating. Burial will follow in the Lakeside Memorial Gardens. The family of Mr. Spillman will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 4, 2015 until time for services. Military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post # 38. In lieu of flowers the family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to The Shriners Children's Hospital, 1900 Richmond Road, Lexington, KY 40502, or the Somerset First United Methodist Church, 99 South Central Avenue, Somerset, KY 42501.
