Ralph Williams

Ralph Williams, 87, widower of the late Christine Williams, passed away on Friday, July 24, 2015. He was born on February 28, 1928 in New Goshen, Indiana to Evelyn and Maurice Williams. Ralph was self-supporting from the age of 14 years old. As a youth, he worked at the Elks Country Club and was a member of the Civil Air Patrol. He joined the Navy at 18 and was stationed in South Carolina. While in the Navy, he steered a ship around the Isthmus of Panama. He attended Indiana State University where he majored in Architectural Drawing. When he became a carpenter and contractor, he drew his own house and building plans. He, also, did custom house and building plans for others. Ralph built hundreds of homes for residents in Indiana and Florida, including working on Dupont’s home in Florida. Ralph, was, also a contractor on big construction projects in Indiana. Among which, he built a Catholic boy’s orphanage, a nursing home, and an Eli Lily Pharmaceutical Factory. Ralph loved his family and friends. His grandmother Certain, helped in the founding of a Baptist Church when he was a lad, and helped raise him in a Christian manner. He lived a humble, quiet, life. Ralph especially loved nature and the outdoors. Ralph, and his wife, Christine, traveled to every state in the U.S.A., except 2. They camped in their campers in many State and Federal Parks throughout the U.S.A. and Canada. They were both avid fisherman and travelers. He is preceded in death by his wife, Christine Williams, his mother Evelyn Thomas and stepfather, Walter Thomas, his father Maurice Williams, his brothers: Jerry Williams, Wayne Williams, and Buddy Williams, his sisters: Pat Williams and Anne Williams. Ralph is survived by his two children: Wayne Stephen (and Deanna Marie) Williams, and Cherry Jo (and Philip Herbert, SR) Losey. Ralph is survived by three grandchildren: Philip Herbert Losey, ll; Dylan Michael Williams, and Casey Allen Williams. Ralph is also survived by his three great-grandchildren: Alicia Lee Williams, Dawson Williams, and Madison Renee’ Williams. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. at the chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home with Philip Losey SR officiating. Burial will follow in the Lakeside Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 from 11:30 a.m. until time for services. Pulaski Funeral Home is honored to be in charge of all arrangements.
