Mr. Willie Hurst, son of the late Arthur and Cleo Poteet Hurst, was born in Rockcastle County, Kentucky on September 23, 1922 and departed this life at the Hospice Center of Cincinnati on January 24, 2009 having attained the age of 86 years.
He was united in marriage to Mrs. Geneva Eileen Burton Hurst on December 3, 1945 at Quail, Kentucky, she preceded him in death on August 1, 2006. Survivors include; three daughters, Linda Bishop and her fiancée David Thorp of Turtle Creek Township, Ohio, Paula Wilson of Mainville, Ohio, and Gale Lafollette and her husband Fred of Morrow, Ohio; one brother, Harold Hurst of Nancy, KY; five sisters, Flora Mae Brown of Quail, KY, Martha Hurst of Norwood, OH, Edith Shears of Indianapolis, IN, Yvonne Ross of Nancy, KY and Betty Jo Hensley of Elsmere, KY; six grandchildren, Kimberly, Michelle, Jerry, Amanda, Tracy and Scott and five great grandchildren.
Other than his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, and one sister.
Willie was a painter, and a World War II Marine Veteran. He was a kind person who will be greatly missed by all who knew him and he leaves a host of relatives and friends who mourn his passing.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 28, 2009 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Rev. Chris Jasper officiating. Burial will follow in the Burnett Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family of Mr. Willie Hurst will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. Wednesday until time for services.
Military Honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post # 38
In Lieu of flowers, the family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Burnett Chapel Methodist Church Building Fund of the Burnett Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery Fund c/o Dwayne Clark
