Mrs. Beulah Floyd, daughter of the late Litton and Polly Tucker Hughes, was born on September 4, 1917 and she departed this life on January 20, 1909 having attained the age of 91 years.
She was united in marriage to Mr. Emory Denver “Tootie” Floyd on February 28, 1934 in Somerset, KY, he preceded her in death. Survivors include; three sons, Raymond Charles “Pete” Floyd and his wife Margie of Somerset, KY, R.D. Floyd and his wife Judy and Jimmy Floyd and his wife Gladys all of Nancy, KY; one daughter, Jean Ellis of Nancy, KY; one brother, Starlin Hughes of New Castle, IN; two sisters, Cloa New of New Castle, IN and Pauline McPheron of Gary, IN; seven grandchildren, Danny Floyd, Ida Floyd Patterson, Margaret Floyd Jarvis, Judith Lynn Floyd Wesley, Jaime Floyd, Jill Floyd Hansford and Charles Denver Floyd, ten great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
Other than her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Ralph, Joe, Tom, and Richmond Hughes; one sister, Lorene Nicholas, one son-in-law, Lowell “Pizer” Ellis, and one grandson, Hershel “Herk” Ellis.
Beulah was a retired employee of Crestview Nursing Home, a homemaker and a member of the West Somerset Baptist Church. She was a kind person who will be greatly missed by all who knew her and she leaves a host of relatives and friends who mourn her passing.
Funeral services will be held at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 22, 2009 with Rev. Larry Butte officiating. Burial will follow in the Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
