Mr. Chester B. Durham, son of the late Roscoe and Ruth “Raney” Durham, was born on November 18, 1920 in Casey County, Kentucky, and departed this life on Friday, January 2, 2009 at his residence in Somerset, Kentucky in the presence of his family having attained the age of 88 years.
Chester was united in marriage to Jewell “Wheeler” Durham, she preceded him in death back on September 11, 2004.
Mr. Durham is survived by one daughter; Sylvia Lee of Somerset, Ky., two sisters; Mary Lou Lyons and Jeanette Thompson both of Danville, Ky., 8 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents and wife Mr. Durham was preceded in death by one daughter; Betty Lou “Durham” Meece, 4 brothers; Elbert, Richard, Clayton, and John Durham, and 5 sisters; Shelby Jean, Laura Sweago, Brenda Gallaway, Ellen Durham, and Juaneta Thompson.
Mr. Durham was a Jeweler for 28 years and a member of the First Nazarene Church.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 5, 2009 at 11:00a.m., in the Chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Wheeler officiating and Bro. Bill Miller assisting.
The family of Mr. Durham will receive friends on Sunday, January 4, 2009 from 5-8 p.m. in State Room B at the Pulaski Funeral Home.
Burial will be held in the Buffalo Springs Cemetery in Stanford, Kentucky.
