Helen Harper Edwards, daughter of the late Everett and Mattie Cornett Harper, was born at Vanhook, Kentucky on September 15, 1927 and she departed this life on Sunday, December 28, 2008 having attained the age of 81 years.
She was united in marriage to Mr. Granville “Pete” Edwards, he preceded her in death.
Survivors include one son, Roger Edwards and his wife Cheryl both of Indianapolis, IN; one daughter, Rhonda Lawson and her husband Ernie both of Burnside, KY;, one sister, Joan (and Jay) Rodgers of Cincinnati, OH; three grandchildren, Paige Rupp, Justin (and Amber) Edwards and Abegail (and Jason) Worley;one step-granddaughter, Tiffany Sheffield, four great grandchildren, Jessica Shivener, Jaylynn Worley, Natalie Rupp and Kendra Edwards; one step-great grandchild, Jacob Spangler and a host of other relatives and friends who mourn her passing.
Helen was a homemaker, she loved her family, and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Other than her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Norman and Blanford Harper and two sisters, Beryl Kasselman and Hulda Purcell.
Funeral services for Mrs. Helen Edwards will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 2, 2009 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Pastor Warren Ashley and Rev. Steven Rodgers officiating. Burial will follow Saturday Morning at the Blue John Cemetery.
The family of Mrs. Helen Edwards will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 2, 2009 until time for services at 1:00 p.m. The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Hospice of Lake Cumberland, 100 Parkway Drive, Somerset, KY 42503.
