Emogene Hancock Garrison ,81, widow of Vernon L. Garrison, died Monday, December 8, 2008 at Lexington Country Place after a long illness. She was born in Monticello, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Festus B. and Montie Thomas Hancock. She is survived by her daughter, Karen Garrison, and two nieces, Margaret A. Gregory Sumpter and Geri Hancock West. She was preceded in death by seven siblings, Howell, Logan, John Oliver "Dickie", Virginia, Frank, Ed, and Billy. She was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church and a devoted wife, mother, daughter and sister. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Methodist Women’s Circle, Friends of the Pulaski County Library, Friends of Kentucky Educational Television, American Cancer Society, Kentucky Democratic Party, Democratic Women’s Club, Senior Friends and was retired from Watson's Dept. Store. Her beautiful smile, her poetry and her kind, quiet joy in life will be missed by family and friends.

Visitation will be Thursday, Dec. 11 from 5-8 at Pulaski Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Friday, December 12 at 10:00 at Pulaski Funeral Home in Somerset with burial in Elk Springs Cemetery, Monticello.
