Mr. Denville Burton went to live with Jesus on February 25, 2015. Mr. Burton was born on February 13, 1929.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Ted and Ella Burton of Naomi, Kentucky. He was also preceded in death by two of his four children; Laura J. Burton and Karen M. Woods. Two surviving children; James R. Burton and Brenda K. Fields. Six grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.
Mr. Burton served in the United States Army and earned his wings in the Airborne Division. He was stationed in Tokyo, Japan. Mr. Burton moved to Akron, Ohio after being discharged where he met and married Roberta V. Coleman of Akron, Ohio.
Mr. Burton was employed with Babcock and Wilcox Company for thirty years where he retired at age fifty as Plant Supervisor. Mr. Burton was an ACE electrician and could repair almost anything. He also loved his Tennessee Walking Horses and raised some fine colts.
Mr. Burton was a member of the Naomi Nazarene Church where he served as Adult Sunday School teacher, usher, and maintenance. While in Akron, Ohio he reared his family at the Kenmore Church of the Nazarene where he taught sixth grade boy class, ushered, and maintenance.
Mr. Burton was faithful to the Lord and his church. Mr. Burton’s testimony was- God be for us, who can be against us? He will be greatly missed.
A funeral service will be held in the chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Tarter Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Pulaski Funeral Home on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until time for services.
In lieu of flowers, the family of Mr. Burton requests expressions of sympathy be made to the charity of your choice.
