Toni Renae Pendley, wife of David Pendley and mother of Megan and Abigail Pendley, passed away suddenly on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at her home in Somerset, Kentucky.
Toni was born on March 12, 1961 in Owensboro, Kentucky to Anthony and Doris Brandle Taylor of Hawesville, Kentucky.
She was a 1979 graduate of Hancock County High School; received her LPN degree from Daviess County Vocational School and her RN degree from Madisonville Community College.
Toni was a former employee of Somerset Surgery Center and Lake Cumberland Regional Medical Center where she worked as a surgical nurse.
For the past 18 years, Toni has dedicated her life to her family, home and others through her involvement in her church and civic and community organizations such as homemakers, quilt clubs, library club, basket weaving club and Red Hatters.
Toni enjoyed cooking, crafting, friends and learning.
Toni was a member of First Baptist Church Somerset where she was very active in children’s ministry, AWANA, VBS, WMU, mission work, and Celebrate Recovery. She enjoyed her Sunday School Class, Bible study groups, Women’s ministry, working in the church Library, and serving in the kitchen.
In addition to her husband, daughters and parents, Toni is survived by her siblings, Cheri Taylor of Tell City, Indiana, Amy (Robert) Buck of Hawesville, Kentucky. Greg (Tammy) Taylor of Versailles, Kentucky, Scott (Shalanda) Brandle of Owensboro, Kentucky, Timothy Brandle of Dallas, Texas, future son-in-law Troy Cooper of Lexington, Kentucky, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends to remember her kindness.
Toni was admired for her determination, independence, and commitment to serving others. She was an inspiration to all who knew her.
The family will receive friends Saturday, February 21st from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church Somerset. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 11:00 a.m. (EST) with Dr. French B. Harmon officiating. A committal service will be held at the Carter Creek Cemetery in Greenville, Kentucky.
