William Smith "Bill" Gilmore

December 20, 1940 — January 30, 2015

William Smith “Bill” Gilmore, age 74, passed away Friday, January 30, 2015 at Lake Cumberland Medical Center. Born December 20, 1940, in Somerset, Kentucky, he was the son of Clyde and Vina Mercer Gilmore. Bill retired from AmeriGas Propane after 30 years of service in the propane gas industry. He was a former member of Somerset City Council, served as president and director of the Kentucky Propane Gas Association, president of Somerset Lions Club, was a former member of Somerset Rotary Club, Somerset Jaycees, and former Chairman of the Pulaski County Democrat Party and is a member of Somerset First Presbyterian Church. Bill is survived by his wife Jenny, daughters Kristi (John) Kane, Abington, PA, and Kelly Gilmore (Brian Egenriether), Charleston, SC, one very special grandson, John Gilmore “Jack” Kane, three brothers, Henry Gilmore of Corbin, KY, John Gilmore, Eubank, KY and Jerry Gilmore, Science Hill, KY and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Allene Gross and Marie Hart, and two brothers, Gary Gilmore and David Gilmore. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, February 2, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends after 11:00 a.m. until time for services at the Church. In lieu of flowers family request expressions of sympathy be made to God’s Food Pantry. Pulaski Funeral Home is honored to be in charge of all arrangements.
