Mr. Cecil Ping, son of the late William and Maude Phelps Ping, was born in Pulaski County, KY on Monday, October 23, 1933 and he departed this life on Monday, November 17, 2008 having attained the age of 75 years and 25 days.
He was united in marriage to Sarah Flynn Ping on January 9, 1960, she survives. Other survivors include; one daughter, Beverly (and Twig) Weigel of Somerset, KY; one grandchild, Stephen Weigel of Somerset, KY and one sister, Loren Ping also of Somerset, KY.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by; two sisters, Emma Ping and Christine Stewart, and three brothers, Vola Ping, Clyde Ping, and Charles Ping.
Mr. Ping worked as a carpenter when he was active and working, he was also a member of the Parkers Mill Baptist Church. He enjoyed to hunt and fish with his grandson, he was loyal to his wife and never missed a day to visit her in the nursing home until his death.
He was a kind person who will be missed by all who knew him, he leaves a host of relatives, friends and other loved ones who mourn his passing.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 21, 2008 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Dr. Jerry Weigel officiating. Burial will follow in the Mill Springs National Cemetery.
The family of Mr. Cecil Ping will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, November 20, 2008 at the Pulaski Funeral Home.
